Praslin Island

...

... is the second largest landmass in the Seychelles and is situated around 55km to the northeast of the international airport on Mahe.

It is a beautiful granitic island, covered in a rich tropical forest and features the famous Vallee de Mai, sanctuary to the rare black parrot and renowned coco de mer trees, which produce the largest and most erotically shaped seed pods in the world. There are some fabulous beaches, of which Anse Lazio is perhaps the most famous.

Praslin is also surrounded by a number of very beautiful smaller islands, all of which can be visited by boat on day-trips, including Aride Island, Cousin Island and Curieuse Island.
