National Park is an ecologically important conservation area which lies on the Indian Ocean Coast
, opposite the island of Zanzibar
Saadani is the only reserve in East Africa which offers the classic "bush and beach" combination in the same location. Despite its proximity to other more popular places, the reserve remains surprisingly low key and little-visited. It is a hugely important conservation project and the area contains an increasingly decent range of accommodation options.
The main potential downsides are that the activities here are all relatively weak, the sense of wilderness is slightly lacking and there is significant human habitation encroaching onto the wildlife areas.UpsidesActivitiesDownsidesSeasonsAccommodationTrips
