is located in the Nosy Be
area in the Northern
region of Madagascar
Situated to the south of the tiny island of Nosy Sakatia, this mid-range lodge has a pleasantly remote and laid back feel and is partially removed from the mass market tourism over on Nosy Be.
The lodge is centred on a large main building under thatch, with lounge and dining areas leading out to a small beach.
Guest accommodation is in a total of around twelve rooms ...
Four large Ravinala Bungalows have room for an additional child bed.
Four smaller Mango Bungalows.
One much larger Madiro Bungalow with two bedrooms, plus room for an additional child, as well as direct beach access.
Two large beachfront options, Villa Tonga Soa with three bedrooms for up to seven people in total and Villa Ranomasy with three bedrooms for up to six guests.
Activities include diving (the dive centre here has a particularly good reputation and there is a house reef directly offshore), snorkelling and kayaking around the island, plus horse-riding and quad-biking over on Nosy Be. Motorboat trips can also be arranged to several remote islands, reefs and beaches.
The main potential downsides at Sakatia Lodge are the difficulty of access, the simplicity of the accommodation, the modest beach and the outdoorsy nature of the activities.
