is located close to Samburu National Park
in the Northern Region
Situated in a excellent riverside location on a village conservation area, 10km outside the west gate of the main reserve, Sasaab is a very stylish camp with elegant public areas, a beautiful pool and several sumptuous rooms with private spa baths. It offers very high standards of hosting and service, whilst remaining pleasantly personable and relaxing.
Activities include vehicle safari into the park, supplemented by walking safari, camel safari and cultural interaction in the more peaceful areas around the lodge itself.
This remote location is generally a big advantage, enabling guides to raid into the park when the vehicle traffic drops during the middle part of the day, whilst enjoying the peaceful areas around the lodge the remainder of the time.
The main potential downsides include the fact that the camp is expensive, the wildlife in the immediate area is not usually very strong and it is a thirty minute drive into the main reserve. Perhaps of more concern is the sporadic heavy visitor traffic in Samburu, with the potential for vehicle clusters on major sightings.SeasonsPricesTrips
