is an ecologically very important area of the Serengeti National Park
in Northern Tanzania
The broad Seronera Valley is the heart of the Serengeti. Uniquely there is excellent wildlife viewing here year round, including two migration periods and incredible lion and cheetah viewing during the Jun/Oct dry season. There is an extremely wide range of accommodation options, including some lovely and relatively remote tented camps. The are is also strong for balloon safari.
The main potential downsides are that this area experiences very high visitor traffic, with significant vehicle clustering on sightings. Unfortunately that very wide range of accommodation also includes some of the less attractive large lodges and public camp-grounds. Off-road driving is not permitted, which can make it difficult to take full advantage of important sightings.UpsidesDownsidesSeasonsAccommodationTrips
