is a sector of the Serengeti National Park
in the Northern Tanzania
This wonderfully remote and peaceful part of the Serengeti is the kind of place you want to head if you really want to get away from the world and have the place to yourselves.
The area enjoys considerable migration action during the Dec/Mar calving season, is a renowned stronghold for wild-dogs, contains a number of scenic highlights including the dramatic Olkarien Gorge vulture roosts. It is also a great place to interact with local Maasai people in a natural and unrehearsed way. Off-road driving and walking are permitted throughout.
The main potential downsides of this area are the scarcity of wildlife Apr/Nov, the shortage of accommodation options and the fact that the main migration season of Dec/Mar is also often accompanied by some rain.UpsidesDownsidesSeasonsAccommodationTrips
