Situated at the junction of the R36 and the seasonal Makhutswi River to the south of the reserve, this very large lodge has 43 rooms and extensive public areas including a large pool. It therefore tends to concentrate on a more mainstream guests of larger groups and conference delegates.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari within the reserve.
- fenced reserve
- proximity to human habitation
- proximity to the main road
- rather large impersonal lodge
- only accessible from the main R40 road
- reclaimed farmland
- not particularly wild
- very corporate feel
- unattractive clunky lodge
- reasonably expensive
- high visitor traffic
- no private vehicle
Shiduli Lodge is a relatively very large lodge and we find it difficult to understand why one would choose it ahead of the smaller and higher rated camps on this reserve ... unless you are part of a large group.
A further downside is that this is a fenced reserve and right on the western periphery of the Kruger area, which some guests may find subtracts somewhat from the sense of wilderness.
