Shindzela Safari Camp
is located in the Timbavati Reserve
in the Kruger Private Reserves
area in the Northeast
of South Africa
Situated overlooking a seasonal sand river to the west of the reserve, Shindzela Safari Camp is a small and unusually simple option which comprises a modest mess area, leading out to a campfire and basic plunge pool. Guest accommodation is in just six small tents under thatch with outside bathrooms. The hosting is personable and the prices are extremely keen, amongst the very lowest in the Kruger Reserves.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari. Wildlife viewing in this Timbavati area is reliable year round. The level of guiding here is usually strong.
The main potential downsides are the obvious simplicity of the camp. There is the potential for adverse weather conditions Nov/Mar. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on safari activities, unless you pre-book a private vehicle at significant additional cost.
In the Timbavati area the presence of fence lines, overhead telephone cables and road signs does detract significantly from the sense of wilderness, but that is true of almost all of Kruger.SeasonsPrices
