is located in the Kruger South
area of Kruger National Park
in the Northeast
region of South Africa
Set within a 150 square kilometre private concession in the extreme southeast corner of the reserve, this lodge uncomfortably close to the border town of Komatipoort. The lodge has a very large two-storey main building, comfortable but rather suburban in parts, with nice pool and dining boma areas to one side. Guest accommodation is in 22 large chalets.
Activities are centred on vehicle and walking safaris, usually within the private concession.
Shishangeni Lodge is one of our least favoured lodges in the region. The area itself is lovely, but the proximity of the adjacent farmland removes any sense of wilderness, the levels of service are at best unreliable and the management of vehicles at sightings is very poor.
