Singita Ebony Lodge
is located in the Central Sabi Sand
in the Kruger Private Reserves
area in the Northeast
of South Africa
Situated above the seasonal Sabi River, close to but completely separate from Singita Boulders
, this luxury lodge is much more traditional in design than its chic neighbour. Comfortable public areas lead out onto extensive decks and on to a nice swimming pool. There is a large wine cellar, gym, spa and boutique. Guest accommodation is in twelve semi-detached suites and a two bedroom family unit, all of which feature private pools and outside showers. The hosting is truly top notch.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari, with wildlife viewing in this Sabi Sand South area being very reliable year round. This particular area is one of the best in Africa for reliable sightings of lions and leopards. The level of guiding here is also very strong.
The main potential downsides are the extremely high prices, the slightly old-fashioned lodge design, the relatively large number of rooms and the fact that they are not detached, plus the potential for adverse weather conditions Nov/Mar. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on safari activities, unless you pre-book a private vehicle at significant additional cost.SeasonsPricesTrips
