is located in the Laikipia South
area of north-central Kenya
The Solio Conservancy is a 100 square kilometres private ranch that lies in the broad valley between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. It is stocked with a good range of wildlife, including lions, and operates an important rhino breeding project.
Set amongst light riverine forest to the south-west of the 100 square kilometres Solio Conservancy, Solio Lodge is a very high-end option. It has luxurious public areas and seven beautiful individually-themed rooms guest rooms, offering very high levels of conventional comforts.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari in the conservancy, plus horse-back safari, mountain-biking and cultural activities nearby.
The main potential downsides are that Solio is a fully fenced reserve, completely encircled by intensive agriculture and with human habitation and the town of Naru Moru in close proximity. The reserve is therefore inherently rather tame. There are no elephants here. The lodge itself is very expensive.PricesTrips
