Summerfields Lodge
also known as Summerfields Rose Retreat and Spa, is located in the Hazyview area of Panorama South in the Northeast region of South Africa.

Situated off the R536 some 5km west of town, this place is primarily a specialist rose farm. The lodge itself is centred on a simple open-sided structure, leading out to a pool deck overlooking the Sabie river. Down on the river itself is a very nice spa, whilst further up the slope is a popular restaurant building which is open to non-residents. The guest rooms take the form of twelve large tented suites set amongst the tree above the river.

The guest reviews out there on the internet are perhaps rather more mixed than one might expect of somewhere in this price band.

Summerfields Lodge does have a genuinely upmarket feel to it and most guests find the location an absolute delight.

That said, we are not totally convinced that tented accommodation is the way to go here in Hazyview when most guests should be getting plenty of that out on safari. There are also some other top quality lodge options in the area at much lower prices.
