Suricate Kalahari Lodge
is located in the Mariental
area in the Southeast
region of Namibia
This is one of three lodges set on the 100 square kilometre Intu Afrika private reserve, an area of classic Kalahari linear dunes which plays host to a good range of game including zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and oryx.
Suricate is a tented lodge set atop one of the infinitely long red dunes and looking out over an infinity pool to a pan that is apparently popular with game. The central area is flanked by 12 canvas rooms equipped for comfort.
Activities include morning and evening nature drives and walks, Bushmen walks and quad-biking excursions.
Although Suricate Kalahari Lodge is clearly a pretty decent lodge, it is somehow rather cold, commercial and lacking in personality. This impression was reinforced during our last visit when we were not permitted to take photos, hence the poor imagery.
