Swaziland Northeast

... is located in Swaziland in South Africa.

This region is largely comprised of flat Lowveld, bordered to the east by the Lebombo Mountains. It is dominated by sugar cane production and more specifically by the Royal Swazi Sugar Corporation.

Hlane Royal National Park extends over a relatively large 300 square kilometres and contains a full range of game including lions, cheetahs, elephants and white rhinos.

Mlawula is a wildlife reserve set in the mountains to the east and, although containing a much lesser range of game, does offer some interesting self-guided vehicle and walking trails.

Shewula is a community-run reserve to the northeast whose main interests are cultural.

We have no recommended accommodation in this area.
