Swaziland

...

... is an independent country which is largely surrounded by South Africa and bordered to the east by Mozambique.

This small nation is the only remaining absolute monarchy on the continent. It noticeably more tribal and the people on the whole are very friendly.

Most international visitors to Swaziland are simply passing through when self-driving between Kruger in the north and the Elephant Coast to the south. It is possible to do this traverse in a single day, using higher quality accommodation options either side.

Swaziland Northwest ... is an mountainous area which contains at least one reasonable lodge which can be used as a first stop when driving south from Kruger.

Ezulwini Valley ... is the heart of Swaziland, home of the royal capital of Lobamba, quite populous but with some modest wildlife reserves, as well as a good range of accommodation options.

Other areas tend to be of much more peripheral interest to all but the most experienced and independent travellers.
