Scenic flights
are specific excursions by light aircraft which are intended to provide an aerial view of a particular range of landscapes which may otherwise be inaccessible or remain unappreciated. They typically start and finish in the same location, although may involve intermediate stops for picnics or sightseeing in locations along the way.

They are therefore different from flights which connect you from one place to the next and tend to be booked as an additional paid activity rather than forming an essential part of the journey.

Refer also to similar sections on balloon safari, helicopter safari or microlight safari.

In southwest Namibia a superb selection of scenic flights are offered to guests staying in the upmarket Namibrand area, in order to access the enormous dune-sea of the Namib, the remote desert coastline and the enormous Fish River Canyon.

In northcentral Kenya guests at the fabulous Sarara Camp area able to go on superb scenic flights up into the remote north of the country to see the dune sea of the Chalbi Desert and the awesome volcanic landscapes of Lake Turkana, trips which can be extended to multiple night excurions by bivouac camping in various remote spots.

Scenic flights are also offered over the Victoria Falls in the Livingstone area of southern Zambia.
