The Residence Zanzibar
is located in the Kizimkazi area on the southwest coast of Zanzibar Island off the Indian Ocean Coast of Tanzania.

The Residence Zanzibar is a very high quality beach resort which sits on an enormous plot in a remote location, at the back of a large beach. It is an international brand offering extremely high standards of service in a huge self-contained resort complex. Lavish and extensive public areas include lovely poolside public areas, a stunning main swimming pool, a jetty out over the lagoon and a total of 66 luxurious villas with private pools. Facilities include a very extensive spa and gym, impressive kiddie club, tennis courts and watersport centre offering a good range of marine activities.

The main potential downsides at The Residence Zanzibar are that the resort is relatively expensive, the architecture is rather generic, the rooms are not all that private and the place is generally not quite to the level of other world class resorts with which it might be compared. Perhaps the weakest feature is that the beach not private and the lagoon is very tidal. The resort is also too remote for many excursions across the island and there is very little night-life locally.
