The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille
is located in the Laikipia North
area of north-central Kenya
Laikipia North is an elevated plateau of arid range-lands which are renowned for their healthy climate. The area is home to a broad range of wildlife, including some of less familiar species which are characteristic of the area, notably including imperial zebras, gerenuks, reticulated giraffes and Somali ostriches. Visitor densities are very low.
Situated on a community-owned conservation area, Ol Lentille is an upmarket property containing four stunning houses of very chic and modern design, each of which can accommodate a private groups of 2 to 6 guests and each coming with a separate complement of staff including butler, chef, guide and askari.
Activities include day and night vehicle safari, guided walking, horse and camel riding, quad-biking, mountain biking and overnight camping. Unusually all spa treatments are also included.
The main potential downsides are the fact that there is a significant amount of human habitation beyond the 150 square kilometre private area, the wildlife densities are relatively low and prices are quite high.
Ol Lentille is and incredibly high quality operation, one of the finest in the country. This may not be a prime safari location, but there is increasingly good wildlife in the area, largely thanks to the presence of the lodge and notably including regular sightings of African wild dogs.Prices
