The Silo Hotel
is located in the Waterfront
area of Cape Town
in the Western Cape
of South Africa
Built in the 1920's, Cape Town's industrial grain silo building was for many years the tallest structure in sub-Saharan Africa, standing like a beacon above the famous harbour. In 2017 the building was re-purposed to contain the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa and The Silo Hotel, a superb upmarket facility which has immediately shot to top of the wishlist for high end travellers to the area.
The hotel is contained within the upper seven storeys, in what used to be the grain elevator tower.
Guest accommodation is in just 28 rooms, which come in 7 categories ... 4 Silo Rooms with harbour views, 4 Luxury Rooms with mountain views, 6 Superior Suites with mezzanine level bedrooms, 7 Deluxe Superior Suites with feature pillow windows and balconies, 4 Family Suites with pillow windows and two mezzanine level bedrooms, 2 Royal Suites with pillow windows, two bedrooms and large balconies and 1 Penthouse with triple aspect pillow windows, one bedroom and extending over an enormous 211 square metres.
The main potential downsides are the extremely high prices and the fact that the Waterfront area can get very busy in high season.ActivitiesSeasonsPricesTrips
