Tortilis Camp

... is located in the Amboseli area of southeast Kenya.

Amboseli National Park is one of the most iconic safari areas in Africa. There are few better known landscapes than the classic image of elephants and giraffes crossing vast open plains against a backdrop of the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tortilis Camp is situated on its own private conservancy to the south of the main reserve. It is a relatively upmarket lodge, with pleasant open-sided central areas, a nice swimming pool area and guest accommodation in a total of 18 tented rooms under thatch.

Activities are centred on vehicle safari both on the conservancy and into the reserve, supplemented with walking safari and cultural interactions.

The main potential downsides are the vehicle high traffic that can be experienced inside the main reserve and the much lower wildlife densities during the Nov/May green season.
