Ulusaba Safari Lodge
is located in Sabi Sand West in the Kruger Private Reserves area in the Northeast of South Africa.

Situated on the banks of a seasonal river, Ulusaba Safari Lodge is a pleasant facility with elegant public areas, a nice swimming pool, an extensive spa and a remote viewing deck above a large waterhole. Guest accommodation is in three standard rooms, seven detached rooms and one large suite, all connected by raised board-walks. There are special activities for children and a baby-sitting service. The lodge is owned by Richard Branson's Virgin empire and is very professionally and intimately hosted.

Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari, with wildlife in this Sabi Sand West area being excellent year round.

The main potential downsides are the high prices and the potential for adverse weather conditions Nov/Mar. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on safari activities, unless you pre-book a private vehicle at significant additional cost.

The presence in this Sabi Sand West area of fence lines, overhead telephone cables and road signs, as well as heavy urbanisation immediately to the west, does detract significantly from the sense of wilderness, but that is true of almost all of Kruger.
