is located in the Kizimkazi
area on the southwest coast of Zanzibar Island
off the Indian Ocean Coast
It is a relatively high quality beach lodge which is independently owned and offers an intimate and personable welcome to a pleasantly quiet part of the island. An intimate main building leads out to a pleasant pool area and there are just 12 large guest suites. There is a very well equipped watersports centre, offering excellent diving and a good range of other activities.
The main potential downsides at Unguja Lodge are that the lodge is relatively expensive, is small enough that some people may find it a a little claustrophobic and has the potential for variable levels of service. This part of the island is not the classic Zanzibar beach experience, the beaches are not like those of the East Coast, most of them submerge at high tide. The lodge is too remote for some excursions across the island and there is very little night-life.UpsidesActivitiesDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
