Waterberg Valley Lodge
is located in the Otjiwarongo
area in the Northcentral
region of Namibia
Impressively situated on the slopes of the Waterberg Plateau, this modern lodge is sited on a historic farm which was repurchased in 1991 by Joachim Rust, whose great-grandfather had originally owned the property.
Joachim describes himself as more of a farmer than a lodge builder. This is nevertheless his take on an upmarket modern lodge. The 7 rooms are very pleasant, with large view windows and modest dip pools from which to take in the views. The main building was still rather spartan when we visited, but we were assured that this will change shortly.
Guests are able to walk several excellent guided trails both in the valley and up onto the plateau, whilst down on the flatter land below gamedrives are offered, with giraffe and black rhino amongst the highlights.
Waterberg Valley Lodge is a very pleasant spot, one which serious walkers especially should enjoy.
