Waterberg Wilderness Lodge
is located in the Otjiwarongo
area in the Northcentral
region of Namibia
Wonderfully tucked away in a hidden valley against the Waterberg Plateau, this historic colonial farmhouse was repurchased in 1991 by Joachim Rust, whose great-grandfather had originally owned the property.
The restored farm remains very authentic, even quite basic by modern standards, but the 8 rooms are clean and well presented. The main building is simple but adequate, as are the two small pools.
Guests are able to walk several excellent guided trails both in the valley and up onto the plateau, whilst down on the flatter land below vehicle safaris are offered, with giraffe and black rhino amongst the highlights.
Waterberg Wilderness Lodge is a magical little place, one which old Africa hands and outdoorsy types should appreciate, the walking trails are arguably the best in the region.
