Wayo Kilimafetha Bivouac
is located in the Central
sector of the Serengeti
in Northern Tanzania
Set in a relatively remote and untouched area to the northeast of Seronera, this simple walking bivouac is used a part of a multiple day trekking itinerary. It comprises a very small dining tent, leading out to a camp-fire area. Guest accommodation is in how ever many dome tents are required to cater for your group, with simple foam mattresses on the floor. There is a single shared bush bathroom.
Activities are centred on walking safari through some of the least visited parts of the Serengeti National Park, in the company of a guide and an armed park ranger.
The main potential downsides are the relatively high costs given the simplicity of the facilities, largely thanks to very expensive park fees for this activity, plus the usual low chances of up close encounters with wildlife when approaching on foot.
