Woodall Country House
is located in the Addo
area of the Eastern Cape
of South Africa
Addo National Park is the third largest wildlife reserve in the country, unusually encompassing mountain, savanna and coastal dune habitats. The area is renowned for elephants and represents one of the lowest cost ways to combine safari with Cape Town.
Set in the scenic farmland of the Sundays River valley around 10km south of the main gate into the reserve Woodall Country House is a high quality guest-house which is a great lower cost way to inject a little but of safari into a self-drive trip.
The lodge is centred on a modest but beautifully presented farmhouse with comfortable lounge and dining areas, leading out to gardens with a swimming pool. There is also a small spa and gym.
Guest accommodation is in several rooms arranged in various converted buildings.
Activities include vehicle safari into the reserve, canoe trips on the river, guided walks in the Zuurberg Mountains, helicopter trips to remote beaches, elephant walks, horse-riding trails and township tours.
The main potential downsides at Woodall Country House are the less wild feel of the reserve, the relatively low predator sightings, the presence of self-drive vehicles and considerable traffic issues in the public access areas.Prices
